How to Get Started

Students will have access to courses in Angel three days prior to the start date. It is normal for your enrollment to appear as "disabled" before that time.
  1. Check your email.
Every student is given a Parkland email account. If you aren't sure how to get started in your online course, be sure to log into your Parkland email. Chances are you'll have some communication from your instructor.

If you don't already have an email waiting for you, email your instructor!

Click on your instructor's name on this page to find his or her email address.

How to access your Parkland email:
Go to http://stu.parkland.edu. Enter your username and password.

In most cases, your username is your first inital, last name and a number. For example, John Smith might be jsmith23. Your password is the last five digits of your social security number.

To find your username, click on Account Lookup. If you still have problems, try the email FAQ or as a last resort, submit an email help request.

  2. Find your course.
Parkland online courses use the ANGEL system. If you are unsure where to log into your course, visit the Courses page on this website and find your course in the list.

  3. Log into your course.
Go to the login page for your course. Your default username and password for online courses will be the same as your Parkland email account. Courses not available until the Friday before the official start date. It is normal for your enrollment to appear as "disabled" before that time.

  4. Get Started!
Once you successfully log into your course, you should see some directions about what to do next, and how to begin working in the course. The instructor will probably have a syllabus and some course information for you to read, and may have a discussion assignment for you to complete within the first few days of the course. Be sure to complete these things quickly, so you have time to ask questions if there is something you don't understand.

    Enjoy your course!
