Programming — Database Management

Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)
Program code: TCPL AAS                         

Minimum graduation requirement — 63 semester hours

The Programming — Database Management degree prepares students for entry-level careers in computer programming and database development and administration. Modern computer programming languages, operating system environments, computer applications, and systems design as well as database theory and applications, structured query language (SQL), PL/SQL, and the architecture of the widely popular Oracle database are studied. Graduates may work as programming trainees, database application developers, or database administrators. This can transfer to EIU and SIU as a 2+2 program.
Program Notes*
• All CIS programs require assessment in keyboarding ability, or students are required to take at least a one-credit hour course in keyboarding by end of the second semester.
• CTC substitution may be accepted for CIS 138and CIS 152 — see department chair.
• Students planning to transfer to EIU and UIS should take MAT 108.
